Courtney Clayson is a fourth year intern at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and is passionate about fertility, pregnancy, and pediatrics. She strives to help women optimize their health through preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum. With a focus on the treating the whole body, Courtney aims to help her patients create a balanced lifestyle in addition to using other modalities, including nutritional supplementation, botanical medicine, and acupuncture. Courtney is also certified in facial rejuvenation acupuncture, and is a birth doula.
After completing her Masters Degree in Integrative Biology (MSc), with a focus in Botany from Wilfrid Laurier University, Courtney learned the true power of natural medicines. She decided to deepen her understanding of these medicines by continuing her education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. With a strong background in research, Courtney appreciates evidence-based studies and uses her experience to create effective treatment plans for her patients.
Recently, Courtney became a first-time mom. As a working mother herself, she has a keen interest in the health and well-being of working women of all persuasions; whether they be at home, at work, or both. She is sensitive to the unique challenges women face today in taking care of themselves while trying to get pregnant, raising vibrant, healthy children and/or succeeding at their careers.
In her free time, Courtney loves to be active, playing ultimate Frisbee, walking in nature, hiking mountains, weight-training, strolling a beach, practicing yoga or hanging out at a favourite spot for a really good Matcha tea. Courtney has come to understand the incredible benefits of moving our bodies and making room for gentle lifestyle changes, in order to enhance our lives and heal ourselves.
